about

i stared into her eyes for 7.5 hours while my side was drilled
my last trip to the concrete jungle of toronto, ont. from the mountain village of vancouver, i was drilling (my term for the needle bc of the noise it makes) my second tattoo. my tattoo artist had the idea to start a book about tattoos and the stories behind them. being a photographer and journalist i thought the idea of having a collective story portfolio paired with photographs of ink was marvelous.
fast forward — i return to vancity and i get the lightbulb above my head – i would start a blog as a place to cultivate said stories and photographs. i start talking to one of my good j-friends about it. she’s on board with the idea of expanding on it and writing articles about the state of ink in our society from various angles for your reading pleasure.
the first three posts are our stories, our ink and our experience with it. please be a part of this project and put your inspiration out there. body art is art. stories are stories. as a good friend of mine who saw me through my 7.5 hour sit the second time i ever met him said, “ink is ink is ink.”
